Rattlesnake Merrick Park

Family Drum Circle – Program at Merrick State Park

On July 18 in Merrick State Park at the Nature Center the Family Drum Circle will entertain you with their style of music from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00p.m. Gather with us for a joyful Family Drum Circle in the beauty of the evening outdoors. As the day winds down and the sounds of nature begin to settle, we’ll come together to create rhythm, connection, and community through drums and hand percussion. Participants of all ages are invited to explore a variety of instruments such as hand drums, shakers, rattles, and small percussion. No musical experience is needed—just a willingness to listen, play, and have fun. We’ll begin with simple rhythms and playful rhythm games before building a shared beat that everyone can join. Drumming together is a wonderful way to relax, express creativity, and connect with others. As the rhythm grows, you may notice how the beat echoes the natural rhythms around us—the wind in the trees, the flow of the river, and the heartbeat within each of us. This interactive program is designed for families, children, and adults alike. Come tap a drum, shake a rattle, and experience the joy of making music together under the evening sky. What to Expect 1. Guided group rhythms and call-and-response drumming. 2. A variety of drums and hand percussion to try. 3. Movement, laughter, and creative expression. 4. A welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Bring your curiosity, your sense of rhythm (everyone has one!), and your love of the outdoors. Let’s create a rhythm together that fills the park with sound and connection.

All programs are sponsored by the Friends of the State of Wisconsin State Parks and Merrick State Park Turtle volunteers. “Your” generous donations are always appreciated at each park program which enable us to help sponsor future programs.
