Explore Cochrane, Wisconsin

Cochrane, Wisconsin is located at the base of high bluffs on the sand prairie, a quiet community that sprung up as the railroad came through Buffalo County in the 1880s and included a train station in Cochrane. Goose Lake Memorial Park has a community swimming pool and is a popular summer spot. The Flag Memorial, located on Buffalo County Road OO as you leave Cochrane, honors Wisconsin’s Fallen Heroes. Flags fly on National Holidays, Mother’s Day & Father’s Day.

Golf at Walnut Grove Golf Course is affordable and tee times are not an issue. Designed to utilize the natural terrain and maintain the surrounding areas in their native state. This 18-hole course has a par 70 layout measuring over 6100 yards.

Folk Art Site in Buffalo County is Prairie  Moon Sculpture Garden. In 1959, Herman Rusch, a self-taught artist, built his first concrete and stone planter at the age of 74. He created over 40 concrete, stone & rock sculptures. A colorful folk art tour d’force, the gardens are a preservation project of the Kohler Foundation featuring works of Herman Rusch and others.

Touring By Bike, Motorcycle or Car will take you to the Mississippi River in Buffalo City or you may want to follow County Road O over the Belvidere Bluff to State Highway 88 where you’ll find the Waumandee Valley (a favorite trek on weekend evenings for stone-fired pizza at Suncrest Gardens Farm, one of four “pizza farms” in the County.)
